The Mahoning Valley Association of Churches Board (MVAC) invites the public to the Mayors’ Interfaith Prayer Breakfast 2023, November 21, 7:30 – 9:00 a.m., Byzantine Center at the Grove, 3801 Shady Run Rd, Youngstown OH. This annual event brings together mayors, public officials, and other people of faith from throughout the Mahoning Valley for prayer, an inspirational message, and musical entertainment. This year’s featured speaker is the Honorable Carla J. Baldwin, Presiding Judge, Youngstown Municipal Court. Reservations: $30.00 per person and $200.00 for a table of 8.  Call 330-720-1747

The Mahoning Valley Association of Churches (MVAC) announces the CROP Hunger Walk Mahoning County 2023, October 8, 2:00-4:00 p.m., beginning at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown. Sponsored by Church World Services, CROP Hunger Walk supports overseas relief and local agencies. Protestant Family Services and the ACTION Mobile Food Truck are local recipients this year. The Mahoning Valley Association of Churches (MVAC) and the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance (IMA) invite the community to the Sacred Music Fest, Sunday, October 16, 2022, 4:00 p.m., Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Youngstown OH. Participating choirs include Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Blessed Sacrament Church, St. Luke Church, St. Patrick Church, New Bethel Baptist Church, and Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church. A free will offering will be received to support the ministries of MVAC and IMA. A cookie reception follows. All are welcome to come and enjoy an afternoon of Music, Praise and Prayer.

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Planning Committee of the Mahoning Valley will sponsor a Vigil Against Violence on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Academy of Urban Scholars located at 3405 Market Street in Youngstown. The program will begin at noon immediately following the Market Street Corridor clean-up sponsored by the Juneteenth Celebration Committee. This annual event, sponsored by MVAC, brings together political leaders and other people of faith from throughout the Mahoning Valley for interfaith prayer and an inspirational message.

We’re excited to announce our Healthy Babies & Families Community Wide Block Party presented by GYCDOR, the Mahoning Valley Association of Churches, and The Raymond John Wean Foundation, with sponsorship by the Youngstown City Health Department & Local Office of Minority Health.

The Block Party will be on Saturday, September 25th from 11-2pm at the Boys & Girls Club in Youngstown.

This event is free to all and will feature food, music, giveaways, and special raffle prizes! There will also be vendors and representatives handing out helpful information and assistance to mothers and families. Please mark your calendars and join us! We’re looking forward to seeing you all and enjoying this time together with the community.

This event will be outside and follow all safety guidelines.
